LWRT(Lightweight Reinforced Thermoplastic)

描述

LWRT can be considered a low-density, lightweight derivative of GMT.[1][2] It also uses glass fiber and thermoplastic (PP) as raw materials, but during the production process, a special technique is used to form a porous and fluffy fiber structure. This allows it to significantly reduce density while maintaining moderate strength, and it provides excellent sound absorption and thermal insulation properties.[1][3]

If GMT is a hard “solid brick,” then LWRT is a high-tech “sponge cake.” Its interior is filled with tiny pores, much like a fluffy cake, which makes it very light. At the same time, this porous structure can effectively absorb and block the transmission of sound and heat.[3] Therefore, LWRT is particularly suitable for manufacturing large-area covering parts that require weight reduction as well as a quieter and more comfortable vehicle interior.
